Peta Negara India yang melarang konsumsi dan penjualan daging sapi (sumber : instagram.com/akashkumarsingh_)Jatim Today – Baru-baru ini sejumlah media di Negara India mengabarkan tentang kasus kematian seorang pria Muslim bernama Naseem Qureshi (56).
Ia tewas setelah diserang sekelompok pria Hindu di Negara Bagian Bihar Timur, India, pada awal pekan lalu.
Dilansir dari e.vnexpress.net, Naseem tewas saat dilarikan ke rumah sakit terdekat karena mengalami pendarahaan hebat dengan kondisi luka di sekujur tubuhnya.
Penyebab Naseem diserang kelompok Hindu garis keras, lantaran ia diduga membawa benda yang oleh pemerintah daerah penjualan dan konsumsinya sangat dibatasi.
Ya, Naseem dicurigai membawa daging sapi oleh para pelaku penyerangan. Sebab, sapi adalah hewan yang dianggap suci dalam agama Hindu. Oleh karenanya, siapapun dilarang keras membunuh hewan mamalia tersebut.
Akan tetapi, sejumlah media di India tak menyebut apakah Naseem memang terbukti membawa daging sapi hingga berujung pada kematiannya.
Rupanya kasus penyerangan terhadap mereka yang dituduh menjual atau mengkonsumsi daging sapi sering terjadi. Kelompok minoritas Muslim acapkali menjadi target tindak kekerasan dari lingkungan yang tinggal di bawah sistem kasta kuno India.
Kelompok-kelompok ini telah menuntut larangan total penyembelihan sapi di seluruh daratan India. Dan semenjak kepemimpinan Perdana Menteri Narendra Modi pada tahun 2014, mereka telah berupaya menegakkan aturan larangan konsumsi sapi secara sepihak.
Upaya itu menyebabkan insiden di kalangan muslim seperti yang dialami Naseem Quresh. Ia meregang nyawa usai dihajar lebih dari 20 orang.
Walau polisi telah turun tangan, aksi main hakim pria-pria Hindu disana tak terbendung hingga Naseem menghembuskan nafas terakhir secara mengenaskan.
Belakangan, tiga dari puluhan pria Hindu yang menganiaya korban sudah ditangkap polisi.
“Tiga orang sudah ditangkap,” tandas Ramchandra Tiwari, Kepala kantor Polisi Rasulpur di Bihar, melalui telepon.
