Sebelum tewas, warga menemukan Junaidi tergeletak lemas di jalanan Desa Cemandi, Sedati, Jumat (30/12/2022). Korban kemudian dilarikan ke rumah sakit umum Sidoarjo untuk mendapat pertolongan.
Namun nahas, empat hari menjalani perawatan di rumah sakit. Nyawa Junaidi justru tidak tertolong. Korban akhirnya dinyatakan meninggal dunia, Selasa (3/1/2023) sekitar pukul 20.00 WIB.
“Saat jenazah dibawa pulang, keluarga menemukan kejanggalan sehingga melapor ke polisi,” terang Kanitreskrim Polsek Sedati Iptu Sudarso, Kamis (5/1/2023).
Berdasar penyelidikan awal, Sudarso menyimpulkan bila Junaidi diduga kuat merupakan korban pengeroyokan.
Aksi pengeroyokan itu dikatakannya, terjadi ketika korban tengah dalam perjalanan pulang. Sebab Junaidi pertama kali ditemukan warga di sekitar tempatnya bekerja.
Namun guna memastikan dugaan itu, pihak kepolisian membawa jasad Junaidi ke Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara untuk diotopsi.
“Tentu setelah ini kami akan melakukan penyelidikan dan menunggu hasil otopsi, apakah benar lebam itu karena adanya penganiayaan ataukah bukan,” tutupnya.
